Greetings from the White House!

If you know a special someone turning 80 (or older), the White house Greetings Office will send him or her a birthday card on behalf of the President. Submit your request in writing 4 to 6 weeks before the birthday. Include the name, salutation, age, birthdate and complete address of the recipeitn, and the phone number of the person requesting hte card. Ocean Fun!

Terms

Crab-a create that lives in water, has 8 legs, two claws and a hard shell.

Fish- a cold blooded animal that has scales and fins and lives in water.

Ocean-a large body of water, there are three oceans.

Shark-a large fish that has a body made of cartilage, and teeth that replenish themselves.

Jelly fish-having a bladder like float and stinging tentacles.

Starfish-a animal that has five ore more arms, and is shaped like a star.

Whale-a large animal that has flippers, anda blowhole.

Octopus-A soft bodies marine animal that has 8 arms or tentacles.

Scales- are small pieces of hard skin that cover fish, and other animals.

Sand- is tiny grains of rock that make up beaches and deserts.

Friendship Lessons

Friendship Pizza

Friendship Pizza consist of the following:
Sugar cookie dough
Vanilla frosting
Sliced fruit (any kind)
Cookie Sheet
Aprons

1. Take the sugar cookie dough and roll it out so it is big enough to fit on the cookie sheet. Let it bake for about 15 minutes. (if your center does not have an oven, bring in already made cookies)

2. Then take the vanilla frosting and have the children spread it around on the cookie dough with plastic knives.

3. Next have the children put the slice fruit onto the bookie dough and frosting.

4. Last have the children cut the fruit pizza and serve each other slices.

Happy Father's Day

For our father's out there! How to eat like a monkey!

Banana Mash


Equipment:
mixing bowl
fork
measuring cup
measuring spoons
rubber spatula
pie plate

Ingredients:
2 very ripe banas
1 3-ounce package cream cheese
1/4 cup butter, softened
2 Tbsps carob powder or coca
1 Cup chopped nuts
1 Tbsp honey or maple syrup
1 1/2 cups rice cereal

Method:
1. Smash bananas in mixing bowl with fork until mushy.
2. Add cream cheese and butter and smans with banas.
3. Stir in carob or coca, nuts, coconut, and honey until mixture is well blended.
4. Add rice cereal and mix well.
5. Pour mixture onto plate and, using the spatula, spread it out evenly to the edges.
6. You can bite into it now, but for chilling thrills, or thrilling chills, place plate in the freezer and let Smash harden about 2 hours. Cut into squares when ready to eat.
